A Full Range of Clinical Lab Services
Central DuPage Hospital provides a full array of clinical laboratory services for inpatients and outpatients. Lab services – including comprehensive analyses of blood, urine and tissue samples – are conducted by our HealthLab unit.
Lab testing occurs behind the scenes, yet plays a vital role in helping physicians diagnose disease and monitor patient’s progress. If you need any type of lab testing at a CDH location, you have our pledge to keep you as comfortable as possible through the process and to provide accurate analysis data to your physician.

Clinical lab testing is performed 24 hours per day. We provide prompt turnaround of test results.

In addition to performing lab analyses for CDH, HealthLab also provides outreach services for physician offices, medical clinics, long-term care facilities and other health-related facilities throughout DuPage County and surrounding areas.
Accredited for Excellence
The clinical laboratory at Central DuPage Hospital is licensed by the U.S. federal government as a high-complexity facility, under provisions of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). Additionally, the lab services are accredited by the College of American Pathology (CAP) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).
The Team
High-quality service is provided by highly-qualified personnel. The lab services are directed by physicians who specialize in pathology. In fact, the HealthLab staff includes:
- Medical director and associate director
- Five staff physicians who are board-certified in clinical pathology and anatomic pathology
- Nearly 100 clinical scientists
About Your Bill
Some pathologists are part of Midwest Pathologists, a medical group associated with CDH. You may see fees associated with Midwest Pathologists on your bill, even if you never went to a location called Midwest Pathologists. This professional fee reflects the pathologist’s time and expertise in analyzing your sample.

Hours:
6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday
6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday
8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday
9:00 a.m. - Noon Sunday
