Behavioral Health for Teens

Guiding Teens to a Healthy Adolescence

For many teenagers, adolescence is a time for experimentation, conflict and risk-taking. For individuals with mental illness including depression or bipolar disease, adolescence can be the time when symptoms intensify. For more information about services for teenagers, call 630-933-4000.

Central DuPage Hospital provides behavioral health services tailored specifically to fit the needs and issues that teenagers face. Through intervention and support, we address mental health and chemical dependency/substance abuse problems before they can ruin young lives. Services help adolescents from age 13 through 18. Our adult-focused programs may be more appropriate for teenagers 18 and older.

Treatment services may include:

  • Crisis stabilization through inpatient care
  • Extended day treatment
  • Partial day hospitalization
  • Intensive outpatient program
  • Outpatient counseling
  • T.A.R.G.E.T. program for teens at risk

TARGET - Early Intervention For Teens at Risk

Early intervention can be the best way to prevent a crisis or future trouble. T.A.R.G.E.T. (Teens At Risk Getting Early Treatment) is an early intervention program that may be an effective alternative to school suspension for teens who are experimenting with drugs or alcohol. All participants are drug tested.

For more information about T.A.R.G.E.T., call 630-933-4000. Referrals can be made by parents, private clinics, schools, coaches or athletic offices and law officials.

What is TARGET?
