Magan Schwartz, BSN is a compassionate and clinically excellent medical oncology nurse. Her critical thinking skills are exceptional allowing her to advocate for the patient while building a strong partnership with the physician.
She is a leader for multiple house-wide committees and has been instrumental in helping the staff on her unit learn and use evidence based practice. Schwartz is never too busy to listen to and support a patient, a family member or a colleague, and her patients always feel they are her most important.
Schwartz is also both a preceptor and mentor for new and tenured staff, guiding her peers through difficult situations with compassion and humor. She sets high standards for herself and works tirelessly to achieve her goals. She has participated in Relay for Life for many years and often has captained the team. Her manager feels lucky to have a nurse her caliber working at Central DuPage Hospital.
