Wound Care

The Wound Care Program at Central DuPage Hospital is physician-led and available for patients of all ages - from birth to geriatrics - with chronic and/or complex wounds. Each patient receives a thorough medical evaluation and comprehensive plan of care which is communicated to the referring physician. Ongoing medical oversite is an integral component of recovery and allows for immediate medical intervention, should it be required.

The Wound Care Team

The wound care team includes a medical director; nurses board-certified in wound, ostomy, and continence care; and physical therapists specializing in comprehensive wound care management. These individuals are committed to ongoing clinical education, and are up-to-date on current wound care products and evidence-based procedures.

  • Modalities: MIST Therapy, high-volt electrical stimulation, ultrasound, whirlpool, pulsatile lavage
  • Musculosketal and gait assessment
  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • Non-invasive vascular and sensory testing
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Patient education on disease process/management techniques
  • Pressure ulcer prevention and treatment
  • Traditional and advanced wound dressing application
  • Upper extremity compression therapy

  • Please instruct patient to arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration paperwork.
