Emmi - Patient Education
At Central DuPage Hospital we believe in patients taking an active role in their own health care. The medical decisions you make, in conjunction with your doctor, are enhanced through knowledge and information gathering. To help you in this process we are proud to offer a unique patient education program called Emmi®.
What are Emmi® Programs?
Emmi is a series of web-based programs that make complex medical information easy to understand. The programs help educate you on what to expect with a specific procedure or surgery. Emmi also has programs on chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.

Most Emmi programs take about 20 minutes to complete. You can view them as many times as you like. We encourage you to share them with friends and family anywhere in the world. All you need is access to the internet.
If you are scheduled for an upcoming procedure or have a chronic condition, ask your doctor if there is an Emmi program that is right for you.
View a Short Flu Vaccine Video
Flu season is here again and for some people this can be a dangerous time of year. Should you get the flu vaccine?
Ask yourself these simple questions:
1) Do you have a chronic condition like asthma, diabetes or heart disease?
2) Are you pregnant, living with a child or someone elderly?
3) Do you shop in superstores, use public transportation, enter schools or healthcare facilities, live in a crowded space like a dorm or come in contact with young children, the elderly, pregnant women or somebody with a chronic condition?
If the answer is yes (as it is for just about all of us), watch this short video to learn why the flu vaccine is important for your health and the health of those around you.
