The Palliative Medicine Program brings patients an interdisciplinary team exclusively focused on symptom management and pain relief. This dedicated team includes physicians, therapists, pharmacists, chaplains, social workers, registered nurses and advanced practice nurses board-certified in palliative medicine. These specialists work with patients and their caregivers to provide relief from pain, anxiety, nausea, breathlessness and other symptoms caused by illness or brought on by treatment.

The palliative medicine team can help patients interpret test results, address changing care options, clarify patient and family priorities, or make quality of life decisions. The team also provides emotional and spiritual support to the patient’s family members and friends.

Palliative medicine specialists are on call to provide care and relief 24 hours a day for hospitalized patients and are also available to outpatients. If you or a loved one are dealing with pain and uncontrolled symptoms, call your physician today. You can also call 630.933.4847 for more information on palliative medicine.
