Amenities to Make Your Stay More Comfortable

While you’re staying at Central DuPage Hospital, we’d like you to be as comfortable as possible. These little "extras" can help make your hospital stay more pleasant.

Mail, Flowers and Other Gifts

While you’re in the hospital, you may receive cards, flowers, balloons or other gifts. These items will be delivered directly to your room. If you receive mail or items after you are discharged, we will forward them to your home address.

How to Send Mail, Flowers or Gifts to a Patient

Cards, flowers, gift baskets and other small items can help cheer a patient during their hospital stay. If you’d like to send something to a patient here, please address it as follows:

Patient Name – Patient Room #
c/o Central DuPage Hospital
25 Winfield Road
Winfield, Illinois 60190

Including the patient’s room number will help us assure that your item is delivered promptly and accurately. If you don’t know the patient’s room number, please call 630-933-1600 and ask the operator.

Our hospital volunteers deliver a selection of newspapers to patient rooms every morning. These publications are complimentary from CDH.

Pet Therapy

On some units in the hospital we offer social visits from certified therapy dogs. These dogs have gone through special training and are provided to support the recovery process. If you are interested in participating in the pet therapy program, please ask your nurse or other hospital caregiver. Therapy dogs come to CDH once per week.

For your enjoyment and education, CDH provides videotapes for viewing in your room. Our video selection includes popular feature films, educational programming and child-oriented materials. For more information, call the Hospital’s Volunteer Services at 630-933-6207 (or dial 36207 from inside the Hospital).
