Substance Abuse and Addiction Treatment

Substance Abuse and Addiction Treatment

A comprehensive range of coordinated services is available on an outpatient and inpatient basis for adults (age 18 and older) facing drug, alcohol abuse and other types of addiction. These structured programs address the behavioral, emotional, social and work-related difficulties that may be related to substance abuse and addiction. Education, prevention, sobriety and wellness are emphasized. We encourage family involvement in the treatment experience. Family therapy focuses on strengthening the patient and family unit.

Outpatient Services

The Adult Partial Hospital Day Program is available Monday – Saturday from 9 am – 4:30 pm.
The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is available Monday – Friday for half-day sessions.
Continuing Care Therapy Groups meet once per week, with many groups and times from which to choose, including a young adult group. Completion of a treatment program at Central DuPage Hospital (CDH), or elsewhere, is a pre-requisite.

Inpatient Detoxification, Residential Treatment, Rehabilitation Services

Detoxification and residential services for adults struggling with drug and alcohol addiction are offered in an inpatient (residential) setting for adults (ages 18 and older). Services include:

  • 24 hour intake
  • Medical management for detoxification
  • A team of addiction specialists (physicians, social workers and certified addiction counselors)
  • Coordination of all treatment and support services
  • Psycho-educational programs to offer tools and insights for healthier functioning
  • Dual diagnosis treatment to address combined addiction and mental health issues
  • Suboxone® treatment for narcotic (heroin and prescription drugs) or opiate addiction

After a patient is stabilized, he or she will be discharged, and often admitted to the Adult Partial Hospital Day Program for continuing treatment leading to optimal recovery.
