Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders are characterized by a pattern of frequent and excessive nervousness and worry about a variety of events. Stress often intensifies the feeling of anxiety. Many patients report feeling nervous, or worrying, for “most of their lives.” Some or many of the following symptoms often accompany anxiety disorders:
- Restlessness
- Fatigue
- Difficulty concentrating
- Irritability
- Muscle tension, muscle aches and soreness
- Difficulty waking up or sleeping
- Trembling, twitching or shakiness
- Cold and clammy hands
- Dry mouth
- Heavy perspiration
- Nausea and diarrhea
- Frequent urination
- Difficulty swallowing
- Easily startled
