Getting Serious About Your Health
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), an increase of 20% over a person’s ideal body weight is the point at which excess weight becomes a health risk. It is estimated 1/3 of the American adult population, or 97 million Americans, is overweight and five to 10 million Americans suffer from clinically severe obesity.
Being overweight does more than just increase your risk for health problems. Being overweight negatively affects your self esteem, body image and overall quality of life. Obesity can rob you of the energy to get through your day and to perform every day functions such as taking an active part in the lives of your family, children or grandchildren. Clinically severe obesity can significantly reduce life expectancy as well as lead to health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, infertility, reflux/heartburn, sleep apnea, depression, arthritis, urinary incontinence, blood clots and cancer. After weight loss surgery, these health conditions have been found to be significantly improved or completely resolved.
Our program is ideal for those who want to regain the energy and ability to live life to its fullest through our medical and surgical weight loss programs. We help overweight individuals lose weight and maintain a healthy weight, giving them back the freedom to live their lives more completely and to spend time with family and friends in a more active lifestyle.
