Pediatric Cardiovascular-thoracic Surgery

CDH CMH LogoDue to extraordinary technological advances, many of the congenital heart defects previously considered inoperable can now be corrected with cardiac surgery. This pediatric program brings the experience and expertise of Children's Memorial pediatric cardiovascular-thoracic surgery team to the medical staff of CDH.

The Pediatric Cardiovascular-thoracic Surgery Team

The pediatric cardiovascular-thoracic surgeons in the Children's Memorial at Central DuPage Hospital pediatric program are on the medical staff at CDH and work closely with other pediatric specialists to determine the necessity and timing of cardiovascular surgery. The multidisciplinary team includes:

  • Children's Memorial pediatric surgeons, board certified in cardiovascular-thoracic surgery 
  • Additional Children's Memorial specialists including pediatric cardiologists, pediatric critical care specialists and neonatologists
  • Pediatric anesthesiologists
  • CDH registered nurses 
  • Child life specialists
