CME Opportunities

Oncology Grand Rounds & Tumor Boards

CME opportunities are available through weekly Tumor Boards and monthly Grand Rounds. Tumor Boards are weekly cancer conferences which allow surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, primary care physicians, pathologists and radiologists to discuss patients and determine treatment recommendations based on collaborative staging.

Grand Rounds is a form of professional education by and for physicians. These monthly continuing education presentations are links to new information, evidenced-based medicine and free Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. CDH designates these educational activities for 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. The CME category 1 credits are tracked for all physicians for educational activities provided by CDH.

ISMSCentral DuPage Hospital is accredited by the Illinois State Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Central DuPage Hospital designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with their participation.

All Tumor Boards are posted on the CME calendar on the physician portal to keep you abreast of the schedule of upcoming educational activities.

Nursing Education

Oncology nursing education is offered on an ongoing basis at CDH. Among the top priorities are those course offerings that lead to certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) designation by the Oncology Nursing Society. Onsite course offerings, also offered to RNs not currently employed at CDH, include the Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course, the Basics of Oncology course, and the Venous Access Device course.
