Our Services
Here, our team of board-certified cardiologists work with specially trained nurses and technologists to perform the latest procedures in invasive cardiology. Our services include:
- Angiography
- Angioplasty
- Implantation of stents, including drug-eluting stents
- Myocardial biopsy
What is Angiography?
Angiography (also called "arteriography") is a special X-ray of the heart, coronary artery, peripheral arteries and other blood vessels. A dye is injected into the bloodstream for this procedure, which produces very detailed diagnostic pictures.
What are Stents?
A stent is a metal slotted tube that provides support to keep a blood vessel wide open. Drug-eluting stents are coated with medications that can help prevent an artery from re-clogging (restenosis) after angioplasty or surgery.
What is Myocardial Biopsy?
Myocardial biopsy is a technique in which the physician uses special forceps to remove a tiny piece of heart tissue. The tissue is then analyzed for clues about the patient’s heart disease.
