This combined prenatal and postnatal exercise class is specifically designed to allow expecting moms and new moms to exercise side by side. In the first forty-five minutes of class, an aerobic/toning program helps expecting moms stay fit during pregnancy by controlling weight gain. It's a natural way to decrease physical and emotional stress associated with busy lives and new experiences. The low-impact nature of the class gently eases new moms back into a fitness program. The water is the perfect environment for aerobic exercise because it reduces strain and stress on the body. The last fifteen minutes of class takes place in the warm therapy pool for stretching and relaxation techniques, complemented by pelvic floor preparation exercises. Aquatic exercise shoes are recommended. A physician's prescription is required for all participants. The class is taught by an instructor certified by Moms in Motion and the Aquatic Exercise Association. No infants allowed on pool deck - child care is available for a fee.
