Fall Decorating Workshop at Platt Hill Nursery
CAROL STREAM, Ill., September 9, 2009 - CNS Home Health and Hospice has teamed up with Bloomingdale's Platt Hill Nursery for a fundraising event that will benefit the charitable programs of CNS. The Fabulous Fall Decorating Workshop, which includes lunch, will be held on Sunday, September 20, from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the nursery located at 222 W. Lake St. in Bloomingdale.
Platt Hill Nursery has an extensive floral and landscape collection, along with a staff eager to help make gardening dreams come true. During the event, experts at Platt Hill will demonstrate how to use a wide array of fall plants to create a dramatic container display. Afterward, guests will be invited to browse the gardens, choosing from mums, ornamental cabbage and cool weather annuals to build their own arrangement to take home. Guests are encouraged to either bring their own containers or purchase them at the event.
Attendees receive a boxed lunch, professional gardening advice and a discount on containers and plants purchased the day of the workshop. Seating is limited. Call (630) 933-7306 to register soon/TTY (630) 933-4833 for the hearing impaired. Workshop cost: $30.
The funds raised during the event benefit those in the community by providing hospice care for uninsured or underinsured terminally ill patients, community-wide bereavement support meetings for those who experience loss, including children's groups, a geriatric assistance program for low-income, socially isolated, chronically ill elderly and a parish nurse program for local churches.
