CDH Foundation Golf Invitational
WINFIELD, Ill., September 1, 2009 - Despite the economy, a record number of golfers came out to play the courses that Tiger Woods and others have recently played in support of Central DuPage Hospital (CDH). "We are absolutely thrilled with both the attendance and funds raised this year," said event organizer Holly Kulikowski of CDH. "It has always been an anticipated event, but even more so this year thanks to a special donor who offered to host us at Medinah Country Club. It was a great opportunity for us to attract new participants and supporters who have always wanted to play there."
Special guests PGA pros Curt Byrum and Todd Demsey as well as NFL player Ryan Diem of the Indianapolis Colts all participated in special fundraising efforts on the course. WGN radio star Steve Cochran donated his time, keeping the dinner crowd laughing and bidding during a live auction.
The event netted more than $220,000 to be divided between three selected hospital programs.
HomeCare Physicians, a modern-day house-call service for the homebound patient.
ThinkFirst Injury Prevention, a program that works within the schools and community to instruct youth and families on car seats, bicycle helmets and proper decision-making.
Pediatric Observation Unit, necessary equipment for a new unit to accommodate short-stay/observation for pediatric patients.
The 2009 presenting sponsors included the Medical Staff of Central DuPage Hospital, ARMARK Healthcare Management Services, Leopardo Companies, Inc., Structured Communication Systems, Inc., Goldman, Sachs & Co., Mr. David's Flooring International, RTKL Associates, Inc. and Walgreens.
