A nominator wrote this of Burgess, “Amy has inspired me and many others to not only use our knowledge, but to spread our wings and take on new projects in our unit to grow and gain trust in ourselves and our decisions.”
Burgess, a West Chicago resident, is the clinical manager of labor and delivery at Central DuPage Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from University of Iowa and a Master of Science in nursing from University of Colorado.
About the Dr. Tom Williams Award
These awards were created as a tribute to and remembrance of Thomas Williams M.D., general surgeon and former medical staff president. Throughout his professional career Dr. Williams made a special point to acknowledge and praise the nurses and caregivers of Central DuPage Hospital. It is the hope of the present medical staff that the exuberant spirit that was embodied by Dr. Williams will live on through this recognition.
