New Family Medicine MD

Melody Derrick, MD WINFIELD, Ill., March 28, 2007 — Melody Derrick, M.D., of Downers Grove, has recently joined Central DuPage Physician Group, the physician group affiliated with Central DuPage Hospital now serving patients in Suite 501. Dr. Derrick is board certified in family medicine and has clinical interests in cholesterol, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and women’s health.

“I’m excited by the opportunities I have to care for patients who come to Central DuPage. Our practice, combined with the resources available to us in the hospital, makes a winning patient care team,” says Derrick.

Dr. Derrick earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine and completed her residency at the LaGrange Family Practice Residency Program. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Evangel University in Missouri.

During her undergraduate studies she worked as the assistant manager of the Springfield Ronald McDonald House and post graduation, she volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Columbia. She was also involved in medical missions to Armenia and Jamaica.

Dr. Derrick joins a group that includes family practitioners Dr. Maurice Birt, Dr. David Grganto and Dr. James Carsten and pediatrician Dr. Mary Mikhailov. The practice is welcoming new patients and they offer weekend, evening and same-day appointments.
