Members of the 2006 HomeCare Elite™

WINFIELD, Ill., January 2, 2007 — Central DuPage Hospital is proud to announce its affiliated agencies Community Alliance (Aurora) and CNS Home Health & Hospice (Carol Stream) have been included in the 2006 HomeCare Elite, the inaugural compilation of the most successful home care providers in the United States.

This ground-breaking review names the top 25 percent of those agencies whose performance measures in quality, improvement and financial performance are the best. This is the first in a series of HomeCare Elite reports, lists, articles and features that will examine different views of the data, including regional analysis, and the underlying components of agency success.

“We applaud the success of all the providers named to the 2006 HomeCare Elite™,” said Bill Bassett, senior director of Market Strategy at OCS, Inc. “Being noted as one of the top performers in the nation in this very competitive environment shows that these organizations are dedicated to quality and performance.”

Carolyn K Pestrak, RN, BSN, director of Clinical Services for both agencies, credits competent clinicians and a commitment to excellence with the company's ability to rank as one of the HomeCare Elite.  She said, "Most of our agencies’ success is due to the dedication and work of our staff partners. We strive to excel in every aspect of how we function as a provider of home health services to our community.”

Community Alliance and CNS Home Health & Hospice are full-service, non-profit agencies in the western suburbs accredited by the Joint Commission of Healthcare (JCAHO). Both Medicare and Medicaid certified agencies, they are providers of home nursing and therapy services as well as more hi-tech nursing services found in the home. Offering many specialty programs for patients such as cardiac care, wound care, behavioral health and home infusion, they also provide therapy services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy as well as a joint replacement program.

CNS Hospice and Palliative Care is one of the oldest hospice organizations in the nation. They are widely regarded as experts in end of life care of both patients and their families. Both agencies also offer medical social workers, home health aides, dieticians, phlebotomy services, caregiver services, wellness programs and home medical equipment. Most recently they have added Telehealth Home Monitoring to their suite of services.

Community Alliance Home Health and CNS Home Health & Hospice care for patients in DuPage, DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, McHenry, Will and western Cook counties. For more information call 630-665-7006.
