CDH Recruiting Efforts Sought as a Model

Manager Invited to Speak at National Conference

WINFIELD, Ill., June 1, 2007 — Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) in Winfield, a Solucient Top 100 Hospital, is bucking a national trend of healthcare employment shortages and concurrently successfully facing the challenge of maintaining high-quality patient care head on. Three employees at CDH are responsible for recruiting candidates across 20 facilities and processing more than 10,000 applications annually. CDH’s Planning and Staffing Manager Stephanie Gregory will present this process at a break out session during the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) Annual Conference in Las Vegas in June.

“The industry continues to challenge us, leaving a shortage of a nurses and technicians. I’m proud that we’ve found a formula that works to staff open positions under 30 days. CDH has awards from highly respected agencies like Solucient and HealthGrades to affirm that we haven’t sacrificed patient care or patient safety – which is priority number one for us.”

Gregory’s presentation, “Maximizing Recruiting Efforts with Business Process Changes and New Technology” will explain how CDH streamlined its business processes and converted its manual recruiting system to an electronic format while ensuring the priority of high-quality patient care.

The SHRM 59th Annual Conference is expected to attract more than 15,000 human resource professionals from around the world and will include more than 150 concurrent sessions on crucial human capital and workplace issues.

Gregory has worked for CDH for 12 years. She resides in Geneva, Ill. with her husband and three children.
