Employees Support Hospital and Community
WINFIELD, Ill., March 8, 2011 – Employees of Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) and its affiliated organizations have been more charitable than ever for the annual Workplace Giving Campaign. The 2010 results, a record breaking $349,829 for the hospital and three other DuPage charities, were recently announced by the CDH Foundation.
“CDH employees demonstrate their support of this community above and beyond their time spent day to day on the job,” said CDH Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jim Spear. “Their financial gifts to the campaign are another expression of their dedication to providing people with the best healthcare possible.”
The CDH Workplace Giving Campaign solicits donations from the employees and friends of Central DuPage Hospital and CNS Home Health & Hospice. Gifts received are designated by the donor to support CDH projects and programs supported by the United Way of DuPage/West Cook (UWDA), the American Cancer Society and/or the American Heart Association.
More than 1,310 employees, board members and physicians donated more than five percent more than last year – collecting $262,372 on behalf of the 2010 CDH Workplace Giving Campaign. Again this year, CDH matched one dollar for every three donated, adding $87,457 to the charitable total with matching funds, CDH Foundation distributed $349,829 directly to local charities.
Employees selected to direct their financial support by percentage, to the cause of their choice: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, United Way of DuPage/West Cook, CNS Home Health & Hospice or to the programs most needed at CDH. If the Hospital was selected, funds will be distributed across the CDH network through the Foundation to support programs like senior health services, health care for the home bound and pediatric programs. The American Cancer Society received nearly $60,000, the American Heart Association received $32,000 and $28,500 will support United Way of DuPage/West Cook programs.
Over the past eleven years, the CDH Foundation has distributed nearly $3 million to local charities though the Central DuPage Hospital Workplace Giving Campaign.
