CDH Medical Staff Offers Scholarships For High School Seniors
WINFIELD, Ill., February 26, 2010 – The Central DuPage Hospital Medical Staff (CDH) will be offering scholarships to four qualified area high school seniors pursuing a healthcare-related major in college.
The scholarship will be for one year, in the amount of $2,500, renewable each year for a maximum of four years or $10,000. This scholarship will not be determined upon financial need. This scholarship will be offered to four deserving students who are presently enrolled in one of the following high schools: Benet Academy, Glenbard South, Glenbard West, Naperville North, Naperville Central, St. Charles East, St. Charles North, St. Frances, Waubonsie Valley, West Chicago Community, Wheaton North, Wheaton Warrenville South and Wheaton Academy.
To qualify, candidates must: be entering into a healthcare-related major; a member of the community in good standing; and have a letter of acceptance into a college or university with a documented major in a healthcare-related area.
Applications are available at guidance counselors’ offices of each school listed. Candidates must complete and submit the application along with their letter of acceptance and a personal statement of approximately 500 words describing their desire to pursue a career in a healthcare-related field. All applications will be reviewed by the Medical Staff Scholarship Committee.
The scholarship may be renewed each year contingent upon proof of continued career goals in a healthcare-related field, maintained 3.0 GPA (B average) and a personal statement sharing accomplishments during the past scholarship year. These should be forwarded to the CDH Medical Staff Scholarship Committee.
