James Giblin MD
James Giblin, MD, is Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Cadence Health. He joined the Central DuPage Hospital Medical Staff in 1995, and has been a practicing board-certified urologist since that time. He was the driving force in the development of CDH’s Robotic Surgery Program and has served in several leadership positions, most recently as president of the medical staff. He also has been a member of the Cadence Health board of directors since 2009. He was named to his current position in 2012.
Dr. Giblin is active in the American Urological Association, serving as the AUA representative to the AMA’s relative value scale update committee, and on the AUA’s coding and reimbursement committee. He also is a member of the Illinois Medical Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Giblin earned his bachelor’s degree in preprofessional studies from University of Notre Dame, Indiana, and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps for four years, spending time at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Kimbrough Army Community Hospital at Fort Meade in Maryland. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 1990. He completed his general surgery and urology training at Georgetown University Medical Center prior to starting in private practice in Wheaton, Illinois.
