Types of Gifts
The strength of CDH Foundation is people – the generous people who choose to give their support to improving health care for the adults, children and seniors living in the community served by Central DuPage Hospital. Donors give their valuable support in many different ways that best suit their personal interests and abilities. Here are a few of the many ways donors choose to give:
Tribute Gifts – In Honor and In Memory
Contributions to the Foundation made in honor or memory of family members, colleagues or friends are a meaningful way to celebrate the special relationships that have touched our lives.
When making your tribute donation, please include the name of the person for whom the gift is being made. If you provide the name and address of the honored person or the family of the person for whom a memorial gifts is made, a letter acknowledging your gift will be sent to the address you provide. The specific amount of the gift will not be included in the letter.
You may make a tribute gift now online or by returning a printable CDH Foundation Contribution Form or by calling the Foundation office 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at 630-933-4483 or TTY for the hearing impaired 630-933-4833.
Employer Matching Gifts
Thousands of businesses, corporations, foundations and other organizations offer employee matching gift programs that double or even triple gifts made by employees or their spouses to qualifying organizations. There is no cost to the employee, and the process is simple. To see if your employer will match your gift to the Foundation, contact your personnel or human resources office for information and a matching gift form.
Once you confirm that your gift can be matched, simply complete your employer’s matching gift form and send it to the Foundation along with your personal donation. It will multiply your support for health services in your community.
Giving Societies at CDH Foundation
CDH Foundation is grateful for the ongoing support it receives and is pleased to acknowledge the generosity of its donors. The Foundation recognizes members of its three giving societies in the Foundation’s annual report, and members receive invitations to special events at CDH. In addition, all donors who have contributed $100 or more are also included in the Annual Campaign listing in each annual report. Learn more about the Giving Societies at CDH Foundation.
Giving Securities
The Foundation gratefully accepts gifts of stocks, bonds and other publicly traded securities. When making any gift of securities, we strongly encourage you to seek the guidance of your financial advisor, tax accountant or attorney. Planned Giving
Planning a gift or bequest can be one of life’s most noble and rewarding activities. There are many ways to plan a gift to CDH Foundation and some can offer surprising benefits to the donor and/or the donor’s family:
Bequest – Probably the most common form of a planned gift and usually done through a will, living trust or codicil – but there are other ways to plan a bequest as well:
- Life Insurance – It can be a simple process to name the charity as a full, partial or remainder beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
- Retirement Plan Remainder – This can be a very tax-wise gift because remainder amounts can be subject to both estate and income tax if they do not pass to a charity.
- Bank and Investment Accounts – It can be very simple to title an account to pass directly to charity outside of probate and your taxable estate.
Charitable Lead Trust – This trust provides a way to make an immediate gift to the charity and pass assets to your heirs with little or no gift or estate tax.
Charitable Remainder Trust – There are different forms of this trust that can permit a donor to give appreciated assets to charity and receive both an immediate tax deduction and future income payments.

Special Events
The annual Golf Invitational and Dinner Auction is CDH Foundation’s largest annual fundraising special event. It brings together many of our business partners and friends raising money to support our continued work. This event helps fund programs that serve the needs of children, adults and seniors throughout the community we serve.

Workplace Giving Campaign
Each year the people who work for Central DuPage Hospital and its affiliates volunteer their financial support to support the important work being done at CDH and selected local healthcare charities. It’s not hard to understand. The same people who dedicate their lives to providing quality health care – including doctors, nurses, technicians, administrators, managers and staff – are also dedicated to strengthening the community and the entire CDH organization through their contributions to the Foundation’s Workplace Giving Campaign.
